Drama with the West Midlands Theatre CompanyIn line with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, children in Nursery and Reception develop skills through play and use of the topic linked role play areas. Within Key Stage One, children have the opportunity to build on their learning during weekly Drama lessons and, as children move into Year Two, Drama is embedded within the English curriculum and is used to support writing and understanding of a number of different genres.

Children from all classes have the opportunity to perform throughout the year. Children from Nursery to Year Two participate in annual Nativities, plays and termly assemblies, with Year Two children creating a ‘Play in a Day’ in the Spring Term. These performances are always popular and are a brilliant opportunity for the children to learn simple lines, follow stage directions, sing songs and create and perform their own dance routines.
