Our Under 15s won an exciting game of cricket against Marlborough College this term in the last 16 of the National Cup. Freddie (Y10) bowled brilliantly early on, with the Marlborough batters struggling to score. Freddie ended up with figures of 1 for 10 from his 8 overs. Seb (Y10) took 3 wickets and Harry (Y10) took 2 wickets as Marlborough were bowled out for 166. The chase was always going to be tricky because Marlborough had some fine spinners. Seb and Freddie opened the innings and were controlled and showed a maturity to their game. They put away the bad ball, ran hard and ensured their defence was solid. Both batters made 50 and got the team to120 without loss. With both batters departing within the space of a few overs, the incoming batters realised how well the Marlborough bowlers had been bowling. Chasing the last 40 odd runs, Blundell’s lost a further 4 wickets. Alex (Y10) scored a quick 10 not out to get Blundell's over the line. Millfield are the opponents in the last 8. The U14s won the first round of the Devon Cup against Sidmouth College. Blundell’s restricted Sidmouth to just 57 runs off their allotted 20 overs. Blundell’s knocked off the runs with 7 overs to spare after some good batting from Harvey (Y9) and Stuart (Y9).
