Old Blundellian's set to break new world record

The Friendship Atlantic team comprised of four Old Blundellian’s, Hamish Friend, Euan Friend, Jack Friend and Arthur Friend completed The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge - The World’s Toughest Row!

At 04:20 local Antiguan time on Saturday 14th January 2023 they crossed the finish line, a time of 32 days, 20 hours and 18 minutes! They crossed the finish line in the early hours of the morning and nothing could stop the huge crowd of their family and friends gathering to welcome them into Antigua!

They are the first four brothers to row the Atlantic and their driving factor for taking on this challenge to re-strengthen their bonds of brotherhood. They rowed in an R45 which they named after their grandmother, Eppy, who was here at the Race Finish to watch them complete their adventure! During their row they enjoyed the adrenaline of surfing on big seas and rowed under night skies filled with shooting stars.

The team took on this challenge to raise money for Drive Forward Foundation, Friends of Kiwoko Hospital & Churches Housing Action Team. They have raised an incredible €100,000 for their charities, and we couldn't be more proud of them.
