Carol Service at Exeter Cathedral

Commencing with the timeless solo rendition of 'Once in Royal David’s City,' skilfully performed by Bryony (Year 8), the choir of more than 150 individuals presented a selection of contemporary and traditional carols. In this particular year, the service showcased several musical pieces by present-day female composers, along with an interpretation of the renowned composition 'Carol of the Bells' and an arrangement of 'Away in a Manger' by the Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo.

The combined choirs featured students ranging from choristers as young as Year 4 to our students in Year 13, as well as the participation of various staff members and parents. Following tradition, the congregation actively contributed to the concluding moments, culminating in the resounding performance of the well-known carol 'Hark the Herald,' accompanied by the senior orchestra. The collective effort of all the participating students was truly commendable, and I extend my congratulations to each one of them for creating such a memorable occasion.
