Sport at Blundell's

Blundell’s sports programme is a cornerstone of school life, offering a dynamic blend of participation, excellence, and opportunity.

With expert coaching from former international athletes in rugby, hockey, cricket, and netball, pupils benefit from world-class mentorship and tailored development. The programme champions multi-sport participation, promoting long-term athletic development, resilience, and skill transfer across disciplines.
Blundell’s strong partnerships with professional clubs and elite BUCS universities, including Exeter Chiefs, Team Bath, and Somerset CCC, provide pupils with clear pathways to higher-level sport. The emphasis on balancing sporting ambitions with academic pursuits ensures pupils develop both on and off the field.
Recent team successes showcase the strength of the programme: Rugby’s 1st XV reached national semi-finals (2022 & 2023), the Girls’ U18 team won the Millfield 7s (2024), and the Cricket 1st XI secured the National Cup (2021). Alumni achievements include representation in England Rugby, Yorkshire Cricket, and Great Britain Hockey.
